A spectacular, small to medium-sized tree in the Bignoniaceae, widespread from southern and eastern Mexico to Peru and widely grown elsewhere as an ornamental.
The bright yellow flowers appear before the leaves and give quite an amazing display when a whole tree is in bloom.
It is easily grown, somewhat tolerant of drought.
